First Day of Kindergarten

Pacey had a great first day... We took her to school but on Monday she will ride the bus. When we got out of the van she said "Oh man, this is going to be a fun day!" She was right - she had lots of stories to tell us when we picked her up at aftercare.

I know what you are thinking... and yes there were tears - but not from Pacey!

Birthday Boy

Yesterday was Elliott's first birthday! We had a small party at the house with family and friends. Elliott loves watching the Baby Einstein DVDs so we decided to use that as our theme. I made the cakes but ordered all the party supplies - everything was really cute. Elliott got some really great gifts. The party was simple and nice.

Elliott took his first steps on August 5th and his first words came a little later - "Uh-Oh!" Since then he says Daddy and Grandpa but I am refusing to acknowledge any other words until he says "Mommy".

In big sister news, Pacey is going to Kindergarten... I cry every time I talk about it - I just can't believe that she is 5 years old and big enough for school... She will be going all day and attending an after school child care program housed at the school. Her school is Windsor Farms and her teacher is Mrs. Nash. Tomorrow we go for a parent/teacher conference and her first day will be Friday, the 28th. Pacey is also signed up to play soccer this fall.

I survived... hey, hey!

Well I came through my "procedure" just fine... sort of - I was feeling great Thursday afternoon but when I woke up Friday morning I felt like I had been at the gym for 10 hours... ouch - every muscle in my body screamed with every move I made. Mom came up to help with the kids... you remember her - the saint... anyway - as my body got better, my cough and sore throat got worse - I thought it was just from the breathing tube but no - upper-respirotory infection - yay! It is now day 3 of antibiotics and I am feeling much better.

Eric and I leave for a "business" trip to San Antonio for 5 days on Wednesday afternoon. My mother - the saint - will have the kids - pray for her!

In other medical news - Elliott went for his 9 month well baby visit last week - even though he turned 10 mos on Monday - anyway - the doc noticed his slight head tilt (to the left) and suggested we see a physical therapist - I had been concerned about his neck for a while but it seemed to come and go but she could really see it last week so away to PT we went. Monday was our first appointment and it went well - the PT said that he was going to be a challange (SHOCKER) because she usually worked on babies before they were mobile (TOO LATE). We will go to PT twice a week for 4 weeks. The medical term for his current condition is torticollis.

Prayers welcomed...

Tomorrow - or later today, seeing how it is after midnight... I will be undergoing a procedure to reduce my heavy periods... not the most pleasant topic, I know... anyway - I will post a link below to the website explaining the procedure - don't worry - it is not graphic! I am nervous about it b/c I have to be under general anesthetic but otherwise I am excited about the relief it will bring. The procedure is quick and should have little to no pain afterwards. Eric will be taking me and mom will have the babies. I do not have to stay overnight - Pacey is relieved of that - I am not sure she will ever forget my long stay at the hospital when her brother was born - who by the way - has finally cut his first tooth!

Prayers welcomed and appreciated!

... to grandmother's house we go...

Over the Bay Bridge and through the farms to Grandma Jan's we go... Today we took the kids to visit Eric's paternal grandmother. She lives in an assisted living complex in Seaford, Deleware. I am embarrassed to say that she had never met Elliott so we were glad to finally get over there. We had a nice visit and lunch from Popeye's - fried Chicken is her favorite! Enjoy the pics...

Preschool Graduation...

Pacey had her Preschool Graduation on Tuesday, June 2nd... Eric and I both took the whole day off from work and mom was able to sneak away long enough to watch the ceremony. It was outside on the new playground and afterwards there was a picnic. The teachers and kids really did a nice job. They marched in 1 by 1 wearing caps and gowns, the girls in white and the boys in blue - they even had '09 tassels on their caps - amazingly there were an even number of boys and girls so they sat every other... they sang a couple of songs and introduced themselves and told one thing they learned at school - Pacey said, "Hi my name is Pacey and I learned how to sing songs!" Later each child was presented with a "diploma" then the teachers made predictions for what each child would be when they grew up - Pacey will be nurse because she is caring and likes to take care of people. Then they gave each child a toy to match the profession - Pacey got a stethoscope and blood pressure cuff. During the picnic they had a moon bounce and snow cones - it was really nice. We gave Pacey a pink rose and a magnet set to display her art work on the fridge, she also got a pack of graduation smiley face stickers that she took upon herself to share with all of her fellow graduates... I can't believe my babygirl is going to kindergarten. Enjoy the videos and slide show of the pics...
