Princess P's Birthday Celebrations

Pacey's Birthday!

Here are some pics from Pacey's birthday... we celebrated for a good 4 days! On Wednesday, her pretty dress arrived from Mommaw and Paw Paw. On Thursday, she wore her birthday shirt to school and had special pink frosted cookies with her classmates. On Friday, her actual birthday, we went to Red Robin for a birthday lunch, Claire's for ear piercing, Build-a-bear to make a unicorn, and to Mom & Dad's for birthday dinner. The dinner turned into quite a party with Barbie decorations and a Fancy Barbie cake made by Aunt Terri! On Saturday we had a house full of princesses (and one Prince Charming) for Pacey's birthday party.

March for the Babies...

This year I have decided to join my dear friend, Jessica in raising money for March of Dimes. As most of you know, her sweet baby girl was born still in October of 2007. Last May, her team - Angel Baby - raised just under $10,000 in honor of sweet Caroline. This year, I want to be a part of that.

one day... all babies will be born healthy

today... too many moms and families know the heartbreak of having a baby born fighting to survive

I've joined March for Babies because the March of Dimes champions the needs of moms and babies in our community and across the nation. The money we raise for March for Babies will help:

- support all-important research offering preventions and solutions for babies born too soon or with birth defects

- educate women on things they can do to increase their chances of having a healthy baby

- provide comfort and information to families with a newborn in intensive care

- push for newborn screening and health insurance for all pregnant women and children

Please help by donating today!

It's easy, safe and secure - just click (to the right) to make your donation.

The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

i am still here - sort of...

ok, so i haven't posted in forever... mainly because we have been super busy and so much has happened health wise with the kids that, frankly, i didn't feel like taking the time to write it all down... below is an email to and from one of my dedicated followers - susan, she is the mother of one of my former students - the lovely leah...

from me:
i know, i suck at updating that blog - i looked at it last night and just didn't have the energy to sit there and write everything that has happened lately... after elliott got over the RSV (2 weeks), he and pacey both got the stomach flu - pacey wound up in the er for dehydration - i got it, then mom got it, babysitter got it - 2 days after being well, pacey spiked a 104 temp - strep throat! that was valentines day... elliott changed meds for his acid reflux now on reglan and zantac before every feed, i had a freudian (sp) slip at dr. g's office and called it zanex and she said "no, that is what you need!" no doubt... followed up with a ped. GI last week and things are looking up in that area. this morning, he actually coughed several times without throwing up (i know you can appreciate that).

from her:
Yeah for not throwing up after coughing!! Add that to the baby book!

You have really been through the ringer these past months. I hope you’re holding up okay.

As for the zanex mix up… we had to start Allie on medication for attention deficit last June. It has been working wonderfully, but when I told a friend about it she said prescriptions like that for children should automatically come with something for the parents. Adderall for your child - some valium for Mom. Heart medication for your baby - a little anxiety medication for Mom. Baby with reflux, heart monitors, nursemaid elbow, daughter with ENT problems and then the flu -- valium with tequila chasers for Mom!!

those emails were at the end of february... since then, elliott has done better with the reflux - the meds really seem to be working. we actually went a week or so without any projectile vomiting until this week, he has been congested so i am blaming it on that. he is still a fussy baby - i always say "he is a happy baby until he's not" - may sound confusing but it's true... keep the prayers coming!
