Catching up...

Wow, I really do suck at this whole blog posting business... is anybody still checking it?

Well, I have been back to the doctor several times since my last post. I have started seeing Dr. Buckson every 2 weeks. On my last visit (6/17) we decided that I will have an amnio to test the baby's lung maturity at 37 weeks and if they are mature, deliver the next day. It has not been scheduled yet but will probably around August 27th. If the lungs aren't mature, we will wait a week and deliver at 38 weeks. I called Eric after my appointment and told him the news, he was silent... I said, "that really makes it real doesn't it?"..."Yup!"

I saw Dr. Lance on the 13th... all continues to be well with the baby and his heart. He is weighing in at 2 pounds, 9 ounces... big boy. Two appointments ago with Dr. Buckson, I made her promise me I wasn't having twins, since my belly has been measuring bigger than it should be. She assured me that I wasn't and then had me lay down to measure me again... she said "Oh, my God, you are having triplets!" I am pretty sure I told her to shut her mouth! She is so funny.

So just one, big baby boy whose favorite pastimes include kicking the you -know-what out of my bladder.

I will be 28 weeks tomorrow; at 30 weeks, I go back to see Dr. Sweeny for a regular visit but then at 32 weeks I start going to see him twice a week. Once for a non-stress test - that is when they hook me up to a fetal monitor and let me lounge in a recliner - and once for an ultrasound. Once August rolls around, I will be seeing Dr. Buckson every week - except for when she goes on vacation... don't worry, I have already threatened her!

Good thing I have the summer off - I am going to be pretty busy with appointments.

Since the wedding and school ending, we have been taking it pretty easy. Last week the weather was so nice that I went to my friend's pool twice and out on the boat with mom and dad once... I have to say that my tan is looking pretty fierce.

I am working on emptying out the soon to be nursery. We redid the office to make room for all of my crafting goodies, it has been a chore getting everything moved downstairs and put away. Mom came up last week and helped me move things down and take things off the wall in the nursery, but we still have a lot to do. We found baby furniture at JCPenny's for the nursery, in a coffee brown - it will look nice with the baby blue bedding we have picked out.

My co-workers had a shower for me on the day before the last day of school. It was very nice. I got several things from my registry and lots and lots of blue clothes. Very exciting!
